WHAT BENEFITS A SEAFARER MAY HAVE BY BEING EMPLOYED BY INTERORIENT?

The Company has a number of policies and benefits, as follows:

1. Immediate or earliest possible employment
2. Employment of our Seafarers’ recommendees
3. Free of charge issuance of foreign Flag State documents
4. Friendly and genuine assistance and guidance for our Seafarers’ documents renewals, required Trainings at seamen’s chosen Centers, endorsements etc.
5. Prompt payment every month of crew allotments. Even if certain Principals may delay to remit, Interorient shall initiate payments from its own funds
6. Seaman’s choice to receive his allotments in Pesos or in U.S. Dollars
7. Advance payment of family allotments up to two months in case of emergency, always under written request of our Seafarers
8. There are cases where our Seafarers’ families may come in front of difficult or unexpected situations. Interorient management always stands ready to help by all means, provided such request is addressed to us by the Seafarers
9. Regular and full payment of SSS, Provident, Welfare, Philhealth, and Pag-ibig contributions
10. Your personal and confidential data are diligently protected and are not even released to your close relatives
11. Obtaining substantial cash advance in Pesos or in U.S. Dollars prior to joining a ship in order to meet your expenses until you join (same is deductible from your wages after boarding)
12. Always we ensure the best possible allotments’ conversion rate from Dollars to Pesos in line with Bank's best available rates
13. In case of early resignation, and provided there is a valid reason behind it, we always speak to Owners to facilitate your repatriation possibly even without charging you with repatriation expenses
14. Full medical attendance and support to our Seafarers in case they suffer an illness or injury or any incident on board, referral to the best hospitals and doctors abroad or in the Philippines, payment of Sick Wages by the end of each month, proper payment of other related entitlements or benefits and/or compensations in line with the prevalent Rules. In case our sick seafarers prefer to undergo their medical treatment in the province, we always facilitate such crew choices
15. All our Seafarers are fully insured under the P+I Clubs and other Owners’ schemes, and in certain cases under the Philippines MWA
16. In specific Principals, we also provide a Family Health Card so that the Seafarer’s immediate relatives have medical coverage during his shipboard employment (continuous efforts are being made for this to apply to more or even all Principals)
17. In cases that any of our seamen is hospitalized abroad due to a serious incident and he wants someone from his family to be with him, we always facilitate a free-of-charge travel of a close relative
18. Always friendly and accommodating staff, ready to assist, support, and guide you
19. Our Seafarers are considered to be our broad sense family, and they are always treated in that sense. Even in cases of certain disputes which may inevitably arise, Interorient stands ready to extend its helping hand
